(1) welding pipe size range is big, can produce outer diameter for ∅ 5 ~ 4000 mm, thickness 0.1 ~ 40 mm, length can reach hundreds of meters of welded pipe.Than furnace wall thickness is smaller than the seamless steel pipe, welded pipe is also small.Pipe diameter and thickness ratio of up to 100, and seamless steel tube and pipe diameter and wall thickness of welded pipe than 4 ~ 50, 5 ~ 28 respectively.So spot welding pipe metal can be saved.(2) it can produce all kinds of chemical composition of steel pipe.
(3) the appearance of new welding machine, equipment and control system, and constantly improve the strength of the weld is higher than that of base metal.Heat treatment used to eliminate the welding stress of weld, and the welded pipe in the transverse direction to obtain homogenous groups.So sometimes welded pipe quality is not lower than that of seamless steel pipe, seamless steel tube can be substituted.
(4) because in the condition of cold forming, therefore the steel pipe with high dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, general metal consumption is only 1.03% ~ 1.05%.
